… best enjoyed with a purple bib. We hit the farmer’s market early this morning. We really hit the jackpot. Blueberries, plums, carrots, green beans, blackberries, AND a watermelon. The stroller was pretty loaded down on the way home. I finished freezing the peaches and nectarines and the sweet potato (which we had for lunch today) and did plums and blueberries and tried those out too. Let’s just say that I had one very satisfied customer. Tomorrow I’ll prep the rest of the veg and get them into the freezer. The food mill makes processing a whole lot easier since it cuts it down to one step instead of two and I didn’t have to peel the plums at all.
I’m still working on my paper. I made good progress today and almost learned an important lesson about saving when my computer froze but all is well and I didn’t lose anything. I worked at Starbucks for an hour or so and enjoyed one of their chicken salad sandwiches. Enjoyed that is until I read the ingredients. It looks all gourmet and healthy with the multigrain bread but any list of ingredients with an asterisk that says “ingredient not typically found in mayonnaise” is not for me. Happily, I have already come up with a pretty close faux starbu chicken salad. When I made it in the first place I used part sour cream instead of all mayo because the sandwich just doesn’t have the cloyingly sweet all mayo salad taste. Turns out that they add low-fat yogurt to the mix.. same dif but maybe I’ll save myself some calories next time.
