Watching episode after episode of the office. Can’t stop… too funny and I have to watch them all before the premiere next week. As it stands I’m on the Booze Cruise episode. I’ve just wasted a whole hour. Where does the time go? I sat down here at 8:52 and now it’s 9:53. I did manage to order new checks but that hardly accounts for a whole hour. Sigh. All day I’ve been trying to make a list of things to do but never managed and now I’m really paying for it. At the very least I need to clean up the kitchen and the living room before bed. Ben and I have been discussing Christmas and what to get for Chase. At the top of our list is (was) a little ride on car for her to scoot around on. Lo and behold I came across one at Tuesday Morning. It’s not exactly what we were looking for but when all was said and done and all the discounts were taken off it ran my 11.99! I couldn’t leave that in the store. I told him to take it upstairs and to hide it somewhere. He rolled his eyes like I was crazy but it’s now upstairs safely hidden. Continue

I just got home. I’m tired and crabby. Someone come clean my crap-shack. Ok, ok I’m sorry I won’t complain anymore. Instead I’ll focus my energy on trying to wrap my head around a story that Ben just told me. The single craziest story I’ve hear in a long while. This weekend was both busy AND fun. That kind of fun where you’ve made a conscious decision to do something you want to do instead of doing the things you’re supposed to do. The best kind of fun… the kind of fun that hurts so good. Danielle came down on Friday. Saturday morning we got an early start and hit the mall. I’m sort of used to being at the mall in the middle of the day in the middle of the week and was sort of thrown for a loop by the sheer number of people at that mall on a Saturday afternoon. Hot damn! Just as I was about to completely write them off… Mondawmin is in the middle of a $70 million renovation that will include a Target, two restaurants near the mall and landscaped entrances. Just a short 5 or 10 minutes away. Hehehe.

So our sitter was here again today. She seems to manage well with Chase. I’ll tell you this though, sitters are in such high demand on our block that it’s all anybody ever talks about when you run into them on the street. She took Chase for a walk today and came back saying um.. one of your neighbors, he has a van he asked me if I was sitting for you and wanted to know if I thought I could watch two at the same time. I thought that was so funny. You have to take every chance you get to find help. I told her she’d better not wear her Loyola shirt again lest she be attacked by a group of frenzied parents on the street.

I spent some more time playing with the camera. I’m loving it. I’m fairly confident that it’s living up to the reviews that said it was good for the home enthusiast. Sans pita chips…adapted from Fine Cooking No. 83, January 2007 This is a really tasty dip. I know because I’m eating it right now. Turns out our two little eggplant plants are quite prolific. I’ve just put a dollop on some Carr’s crackers but my original intention was to sub frozen TJ’s naan for the pita chips. Now to find the naan… stupid freezer. Continue

Nothing out of the ordinary happened today. Went to Starbucks, did a little sewing, put up some drywall. You know, the usu. I’m so very pleased though because a) I finished the pants that went with Chase’s little outfit AND there are still at least three weeks of summer weather still to come. b) My friggin flash finally came and even though there’s stuff missing the flash itself it awesome. c) The weather is awesome. d) I had two classes canceled yesterday, one today and one more tomorrow. The professor says: anyone with a background in accounting who has questions about what is and is not on the balance sheet hold them until the end of class. No one else is this class wants to hear them and none of us need to know the answers. That is the most awesome and direct way I’ve ever heard a professor tell those overachievers to put it in their pipe and smoke it. Although she could have just said I make the hypos jerk faces! That would have worked too. I was happy.
