“All of the proceeds,” she says, “go to the victims of FEMA… I mean Katrina.” Oh, those law school moments. Oh, to be paid to stand in front of a room full of people just to say things like that and to carry on and on about whatever popped into my mind. This was a comment made in relation to the purchase of what was described as an entire case of Steven Colbert’s wrist strong bracelets. It appears that proceeds actually go to the Yellow Ribbon Fund but that’s besides the point. What’s really important here is that all of this was uttered as a follow up to you know I don’t have a tv, but… and that the bracelets were evidently purchase as an incentive for good students. I evidently will not be getting a bracelet as even though I am considered to be one of her “usual suspects.” which is to say I regularly contribute and participate in class I am consistently referred to as “you in the back.” True, I sit way up in the back row with the girl that always comes in late and got called out today for not bringing my book to class but at least I was awake and paying attention which was no small feat. Sure, it’s not the first time I’ve forgotten my book but I’m trying. When I do have it at least I raise my hand which is more than I can say for some people. Plus, I’d rather hear myself carry on about whatever pops into my head.
Chase had her nine month checkup today. She is in the 95th percentile for height and above the same for weight. She measured 29 3/4″ and weighed 26 pounds. The doc says everything is hunkydory and for that I am truly thankful. She only got one shot today so that was a piece of cake for her and it didn’t seem to slow her down at all though she was more than ready for a nap when we got home. This picture is her playing with Teenie this afternoon.
