Cake

library-3658It finally happened, I caved.  Instead of going to the park after school we went for cupcakes.  God knows I can’t resist a good deal and it just so happens that for the month of March The Baltimore Cupcake Company is offering their cupcakes for half price on Tuesdays!  It was a heavenly delight that only cost me a buck fifty.  Which is a good thing because, as always, when I embarked on this adventure I only had two dollars in cash to my name.  If I’d had to use my card I probably would have felt compelled to buy more than a single treat.

It being rather late in the afternoon there were only three flavors left to choose from.  Chase spotted the ones with the giant double bubble pink gumballs on top and decided that only one of those would do.  Luckily she had no idea that the giant pink ball was edible.   I have to tell you, I’ve never tasted buttercream that was quite so heavenly or cake that was quite so light and delicious.  I don’t think Chase has either.  Not a drop, not a speck of cake was wasted.  Every last crumb of it got crammed into her cake hole on the way home.  I let her eat it in the car against my better judgment but in the end it was fine.  I don’t know what I’m going to do now.  I’m going to have to set some firm limits or, now that I’ve broken the seal, this could be the start of a big problem.  Look at all the flavors!

Well, maybe it was just that I wanted to celebrate a little.  Your favorite litigator won her case this afternoon which is huge.  My recently ultra-fragile ego really needed it.  My job, as it turns out, is hard.  I don’t know why I never really thought it would be.

    Congrats on the case!

Cupcakes are easy to get caught up in. There is a Cake Love in Tysons – all they sell is cupcakes. Yes, there are only 2.5 of us, but we always buy at least 4!

Anny and I disagree on the food-in-the-car issue. It’s probably the least of our concerns, so we each agree to respect the other’s decision in the moment. We’re doing a road trip to Iowa this summer, so I’m going to have to give in at that point anyway.

    Happy Wednesday!

There’s a Cake Love in Silver Spring too that one’s gotta be closer. Have you ever taken Abby to the splash fountains there? It always looked like a good time but we didn’t have kids then.
