Is that blasphemous? I didn’t mean it to be. I just like the double meaning. Because it will indeed be a good Friday. Actually, I didn’t even realize it was Good Friday until just a little while ago. My boss asked me if I was coming in tomorrow which makes me think that our office must not be closed. But when my day off falls on what would otherwise be a holiday it’s a lot less satisfying in some ways. I’m trying not to dwell on it. I need to be home anyway because I’m hoping that taking it easy will help me get over this plague that I’m suffering from. I am definitely on the mend even though I sound like hell. The flu-like body aches, fever and chills, makes me feel crazy illness, morphed into a hellish sore throat which has finally limited itself to a stuffy nose and hoarse voice but I can deal with this.
Great, now that I’ve been complaining so long I can’t remember what exactly I sat down to write. I know that one of the things on my mental list was the Easter themed bean bags but I’m sure there was something else. Hopefully it will come back to me. In the meantime, the bean bags. Easter is a confusing time for me. The customs that we observed in my house as a kid are neither the same as the ones that Ben remembers nor the ones that appear to be expected based on what I see at Target. I suspect that most people would just sort of go with the flow but apparently that’s just a little more than I can handle. In particular, the parts I don’t ‘get’ are the easter basket and the plastic egg filled with stuff. We just never did either. We just hunted for stuff the Easter Bunny left there was no particular basket involved to the best of my recollection.
Ok, so on one hand there’s that and on the other hand I’m back to my original question of what else to do other than chocolate and candies? I got the idea here but I was pretty sure Chase wouldn’t know what the heck jelly beans were. I did make one decorated with jelly beans though because I think she’ll catch on kind of quickly. Just to clarify, they’re not quite done. I don’t plan to give them to her as faceless bunny and eye-less chick bean bags. :) I figure I’ll show her how to make a game out of tossing them into the bucket. I hope she likes it.
