How was your weekend? Things were pretty quiet here. I really wanted to go strawberry picking but somehow the stars just never aligned. It seems to me like last year the season lasted for weeks and weeks and this year it was over in the blink of an eye. Last year we picked strawberries, cherries and blueberries. This year, summer barely started before strawberries and cherries were already out of season. Anyway, since I didn’t get to go picking I decided to settle for making jam from farmer’s market berries. Progress :: Puppet Show Tunic
It’s coming together really nicely. All of the main construction is completed I just have to put in the hem and button holes. I was going to try to finish it up tonight but Ben got a new toy for fathers’ day and we’re both a little addicted. He’s in time out though. He claims he overexerted himself.
It looks kind of sad just hanging there all wonky-like but I’m fully confident that it will be super cute on. I’ll put some more time into it while I’m NOT at the office, mwah hah ha.

Really Good Bread
Focaccia! Bread can be dinner right? It was tonight anyway. Well bread and soup. Sure, it’s the middle of June but hey, I like soup and honestly what’s the difference between buying it an Panera (which I do I won’t tell you how often, but often) and making it at home? From start to finish the bread takes about an hour. I mixed the whole thing by hand and it came together more quickly than pancakes. There are only three ingredients to remember. I Heart Weekends
Don’t you? Although it started slow (and hella early), Saturday made a good recovery and had a strong finish. We spent the better part of the morning in various lines in Target dealing with picking out a father’s day present. It wasn’t necessarily Target’s fault but by the time we left there I was sweating and hugely annoyed. Then Chase fell asleep on the way back for exactly 7 minutes and that was the only nap she took this afternoon. I did however convince her to rest on

Last Thoughts on the Tea Party Dress
- This dress has great swing!
- It’s actually pink not orange. Natural light is an amazing thing.
- One thing I learned during the construction process is that the seams on the skirt need to be clipped almost from top to bottom to get them to lie flat not just along the obvious curve.
- The instructions for this patters are great including the tips given with the trickiest steps.

Completed :: Oliver + S Tea Party Dress
It’s done! AND I met my goal of finishing one project this week in spite of the fact that I cut it last weekend and then didn’t touch it again until today. Better!
Thanks for all the great snack ideas. I picked up cheese, nuts, salsa and a bunch of fruit among other things and I am feeling much better. I also did a tiny bit of menu planning. I have 5 meals planned for the week and I am cautiously optimistic that I can keep up. I did buy a frozen pizza just in case I need a plan b. Hungies
That about describes where I am right now.
