I love Fridays. I love Fridays ahead of long weekends especially. I’m going to try to make the most of this one. We’ll see how it goes. I don’t have anything specific planned for the weekend so it’s kind of a toss up as to how it will turn out. We always seem to manage to come up with something to do. Like today, we managed to squeeze a little fun out of our errands. We picked these pumpkins out at Safeway and Chase arranged them just so for the coffee table. They’re covered in some kind of unnatural shiny stuff but it makes them look nice, especially the wee round ones. We’ll pick up some more when we go to the pumpkin patch. These will get us started though. We put the funny acorns we found at the zoo in there too. Maybe tomorrow we’ll get online and identify them.
And maybe we’ll paint faces on some of the pumpkins as Halloween gets closer. I wasn’t sure how that would go so we talked about jack o lanterns instead and made one out of paper. Chase was really proud of how hers turned out. I cut the pieces out, gave her some direction on drawing the lines and let her go with the glue and markers. He kinda looks like he’s crying glue but meh, it dries clear. The “spooky” mouth was by special request. So what next? I’m trying to think of some other activities for us to do.
All of this talk about fall and halloween and you’d think I wouldn’t still be consuming iced tea by the gallon. But I am. I can’t stop, it’s so good. Sweet tea, to be clear. That’s the only way to consume it. Plus, now that I’ve run the dishwasher I can post this picture of my iced tea in a mason jar and call it quaint rather than just lazy. : ) The weather was much cooler today. It seemed to have rained over night when we went out this morning and I guess that broke the humidity. I never remember to check the forecast so I have no idea if that was the end of that. I guess I like the surprise of it.
Check out C’s new watch. She found it in the basement and didn’t take it off all day. I started to worry that I wouldn’t be able to convince her to take it off at bath time but we agreed that it could stay on her bedside table overnight. Now that I think about it I showed her how to work the indiglo I wonder if she remembered that. She’s probably still awake.
