Christmas came and went.  It always goes so fast!  Christmas was good.  Not great, but good and another step toward getting our little celebration down to a science.  This year, I was good right through Christmas Eve.  Next year I need to focus my attention on Christmas day.  Fatigue was a big problem this year.  I needed to have all of my faculties Read the rest of this entry »

Happy Christmas!

Mommy and daddy’s gifts were opened.  Cookies are set out, packages are wrapped and stockings are ready to be tiptoed in before I go to bed.  We shared a celebratory drink and gave thanks for our many blessings, it was a good night.  This is the first night that I’m perfectly ok with how quickly the nighttime hours go.  I think Ben and I are more excited than Chase is.   Read the rest of this entry »

Snowpocalypse 2009

dsc_0027We survived it!  We survived and no one ran out of milk, bread or toilet paper.  I didn’t get out to play in the snow but Chase and Ben did and it sure did look like a lot of fun.  Being housebound is nothing new for me these last few weeks.  I think the little one suffered most.  She is definitely going through something.   Read the rest of this entry »

Except Sleepy Was One of the Dwarves… Not a Reindeer

dsc_0011Christmas is coming!  It’s a week away to be exact.  The tree is (mostly) trimmed and presents have (mostly) been ordered.  Everything is done enough that if something left on the list doesn’t get done no one will notice and that gives me great peace. Read the rest of this entry »

The Many Faces of the First Few Days

dsc_0020There are many and I’ll show you some of them.  Not, of course, including mine.  Although, it is significantly less puffy and dark circled than before.   Read the rest of this entry »

2009-12-11-22-10507I’m not quite back yet but I wanted to let you know that sweet girl is here.  She joined us a little early and a little bit by surprise early this morning.  We’re thrilled to say the least and so is her big sister!  She already told me that she can’t wait to hold her.

I’ll Be Back

I’m supposed to be taking it easy this week.  I thought I’d be spending the week Christmas shopping and doing laundry but not so much.  Instead I’m spending it watching too much tv and really, really worrying about what’s going on.  I want to just have the baby already so I can stop worrying that something isn’t going right… aka trying not to freak out.  So I’m going to concentrate on being well for a while and I’ll be back when all of this having a baby business is sorted out!

library-494On a couple of different fronts.  I put this little guy together today from this tutorial.  Couldn’t be simpler.  But now I have the idea of using it the reverse way so Chase can swaddle her baby like mommy.  This is going to be part of her big sister gift along with the baby doll with closing eyes that she previously requested.  My goal is one more blanket (which I’ve already cut) and two more diapers.  I think I can do it.   Read the rest of this entry »

Where There’s Snow…

cocoa3There’s cocoa!  My first day off was not at all restful and frankly I’m so beat now that I’m just going to cut my losses tonight and try again tomorrow.  I finally got synched up with my friend to do the photos.  She said she’d get the photos edited tonight and that I could see them tomorrow.  That’s almost too long.  I can’t wait to see them!  I took a couple of shots with Chase that I think have a lot of potential so I am REALLY hopeful that at least one of those turns out.   Read the rest of this entry »

Going Out with a Bang

library-476Today was my last official day at the office.  Of course now that I think about it, I can’t recall either of my bosses actually saying bye to me when they left.  I’ll probably get a call on Tuesday with questions about where the heck I am.  All of the other staff however chipped in and gave me a lovely card and a nice little gift that I can go out and blow at Babies R Us.  I love a good gift card… or three!  Wasn’t that nice?  It was nice that they took the time to put that together.  And now I’ll have something to do next week between stinking doctor’s appointments.   Read the rest of this entry »
