A Girl, A Popsicle and Her Dogs

Chase doesn’t get sick that often.  She has her share of runny noses but she is rarely really sick.  So it’s hard to wrap my head around it when she’s feeling really lousy.  So lousy that she turned down all of her favorite foods today including ice cream.  I’m glad that she has a check up tomorrow because she has eaten almost nothing in the last 24 hours.  I was thrilled to see her eat a quarter of a strawberry, two bites and toast and half  popsicle tonight at dinner.  Half a popsicle, what is that?     Read the rest of this entry »

Random Bits of Friday

I thought TGIF more than once today.  But we did have some fun today and did have a couple of good laughs.  So I’ve been writing down these bits all day.  I also had the following thoughts which were neither funny nor that interesting but I have to get them off my chest.  Tiny balls of fresh mozzarella = grown up cheese stick.  Much, much tastier than part skim mozzarella.  I used to watch the Simpsons a lot.  I guess it’s not relevant anymore or John Stewart = grownup Simpsons?  Really though, thanks for listening.  That feels better!   Read the rest of this entry »

I Love This Toy

I love these Magna-Tiles because they are one of very few toys that Chase will pick up and play with on her own for while.  They’re cool because they’re magnetic and stick to each other any way you stack them.  We just discovered that they even stick and stack on the fridge.   I can’t take credit though.  They we’re dad’s good pick and something she really liked to play with at school.   Read the rest of this entry »

I wish I was feeling as happy as these two.  I’m a total basket case today.  Suffering a little emotionally but I’ll get over it.  Just sooner rather than later I hope.  Maybe a little retail therapy would help?  Just a little.  Hmm.

So it turns out that the reason that Avery’s feet are filling out the toes of her pyjamas is that she’s growing!  She had a two week follow up following her last appointment and she’s gone from 6 lbs 14 oz to 8 lbs 10 oz and picked up a 1/2 inch.  Big girl!

I’m trying to make myself feel better by watching numerous episodes of 30 Rock so, back to it.  Meanwhile, send me your best calming vibes.

The Preschool Craft Hour

It’s a good way to pass time in the morning.  I usually just like to giver her paper and crayons and let her have at it but I did that first with paint, then with the stamps and I still wasn’t quite prepared to move on to the next activity so I tried this.  I feel like I’m the one that needs to ask for just a few more minutes 20 times each morning.   Read the rest of this entry »

Bigger Bear

So all of a sudden my little one is filling out her 0-3’s nicely and the little lamb heads on the feet of her pyjamas… have feet in them.  Can you believe that it’s been 4 weeks already?  Today was the first day of some big changes around here.   Read the rest of this entry »

Target + Panera + Super Mario Bros. =

Happy Friday!  Sure, I had to bribe Chase to leave the house this evening with a piece of chocolate but we eventually donned our hats and boots and made our way out into the night.  A little retail, a little soup, and a new game for the wii; the perfect way to cap off the week. Rashers for Supper

Obviously the pictures are unrelated.  Credit for tonight’s supper goes to Google.  Sometime around 5 o’clock I typed “bacon pasta mushrooms” and hit search.  What I got back was this little number for a quick tasty dinner.   Read the rest of this entry »

Smile, Please?!

Chase and I both tried our best.  Silly voices, silly faces, exaggerated smiles and still nothing.  At some point yesterday, there were five of us leaning over the poor girl but she refuses to oblige. So, I’m still patiently waiting for a smile.   Read the rest of this entry »
