A Little Work in Progress

Today brought some unexpected dinner guests and a little more fun, singing and cake.  Fun. singing, cake and a lot of playing.  We’re trying to figure out what to do about the toy situation.  I don’t want to get rid of anything because I figure Avery will be big enough to  play with it soon enough but at the same time, something’s got to give.  There are just far too many toys in the living room.  Some of them can go upstairs but I think it’s time for some of them to go into the basement for a while to make room for the new toys from Christmas and her birthday.

Mommy and daddy gave Chase a new shopping cart for her birthday and she loves it.  I was hoping that it would resurrect her interest in her play kitchen and so far so good.  I hope it lasts because that thing doesn’t get any attention these days.

So you’re supposed to be feeling better as soon as two or three weeks after a c-section and all restrictions on activity are lifted after 6 weeks.  I’m going on four weeks here and while I’m feeling mostly like myself again I’m not 100%.  I cannot tell you how much I’m looking forward to being 100%.  There are things I need to tackle and I don’t know how much longer I can go on watching them go undone.  I can procrastinate like nobody’s business but even I draw the line at 4 weeks.  It’s getting hard to cope.

Meanwhile I’m biding my couch time with some working on my unfinished objects.  I finished one of those booties.  It needs to be stitched up but I’ll do them both at the same time when I finish number two.  The toe was tricky.  It was like turning a heel, which I have never attempted but it’s not all the difficult.  I viewed the video on turning a heel at knitting help and applied the same principles.  Worked like a charm.

Part of the problem with my first attempt was that I cast on 3-6 months and at some point started following the instructions for 0-3 which really screwed me up.  This attempt went much more smoothly though it’s probably a good thing I made them in 3-6, by the time I actually get them finished and stitched up Avery will probably be three months old!  I’ll keep you posted.  I do want to finish them up so I can get to work on the felted booties.
