Target + Panera + Super Mario Bros. =

Happy Friday!  Sure, I had to bribe Chase to leave the house this evening with a piece of chocolate but we eventually donned our hats and boots and made our way out into the night.  A little retail, a little soup, and a new game for the wii; the perfect way to cap off the week. The latest in the nap chronicles is that we did a nap today.  I thought it would be essential since she was falling asleep in the car on the way to gym.  So, the verdict?  We did the nap and sure enough, even though we went out again tonight and walked all around Target, she was out of bed three times before finally (I hope) falling asleep some time after 10.  So that’s it, the naps are done.  I’ll get over it.  I have no choice.

We had fun.  We talked and Chase told me all kinds of interesting things like daddy says I have to marry a boy.  The whole marry a boy thing aside?  When were you asking daddy about getting married?  I should have asked her what getting married means.  I asked Ben who in reasonably confident that he never had such a discussion with her but she was very specific.  I don’t know where she gets this stuff.  And this all led to Ben trying to explain to a three  year old that no, really he’d never said that and it would be ok that she marry the person of her choosing… Oh my.  It’s decidedly difficult to keep that discussion age appropriate.

I started working on a project that’s been rattling around in my brain for a while.  I’m trying to figure out a way to make a shop for Chase to use with her grocery cart fashioned out of felt and 3m command strips and some random pieces I found in the basement.  I really hope to finish it up tomorrow.  I’ve been taking pictures, if it works I’ll post a little tutorial.  I decided to get back to it.  I’m going on five weeks since the surgery and feeling a lot better.  Not to mention that recently we’ve been lucky enough to receive a number of awesome handmade gifts like these little booties.  How cute are those?  They made me want to get back on the horse.

Tomorrow, I’m going to caffeinate myself and brave clothes shopping with Ben.  There’s nothing like shopping with someone who needs stuff but doesn’t want to buy anything.  It’s a must though since he starts a new job on Monday that requires him to properly clothe himself for interactions in public.  Maybe something stronger than caffeine? Oy.  Happy Friday, happy weekend!
