The single most aggravating thing currently going on is the constant boundary testing. Chase does something, I ask her to stop, she continues, disaster ensues. Well, it’s not always a disaster but it’s hard not to see it that way when the outcome was totally avoidable. If only she would stop when I ask her to, the FIRST time.
Yesterday it was swinging on the padded ropes in line at the library which she ultimately tripped over. Today it was the bubbles which ultimately spilled when she didn’t put them down like I’d asked. I keep trying to reinforce how she could avoid getting bonked on the head if she follows instructions but I think the moment just isn’t right. Honestly, a consequence can’t get much more logical than that. Later in the day I told her to stop blowing bubbles in her juice and threw her straw away when she wouldn’t. I didn’t think there was any danger of her getting hurt there so I had to improvise. It’s a good thing she’s so darn cute.
I’m sure that she’s soaking it all in but it would be nice to see some results.
