I call her my monster. I know, I know. Enough with the pictures in the exersaucer already. But seriously, I couldn’t help myself. The fingers, the shy smile and the shirtless torso? Too much for me. Today was a little crazy nap-wise. Yesterday, I got Avery ready for her morning nap around 10. Put her down in her crib fully awake and closed the door. She babbled for a while and fell asleep… for two hours. I thought, Eureka! I’ve been doing this wrong all along. I think it was a one time deal. It hasn’t happened a second time.
There’s always a little something to tweak. I’m very much looking forward to having our game down. When does that happen? Around 1? 9 or 10 months? I’d say that’s forever from now but I know better than that. It’s hard to not be frustrated by not being able to get her down for a good nap. I got all wound up in the middle of the day but finally concluded that since she was fine and went to bed ok that it’s just not that big of a deal. The fact that Chase has been out of bed three times already? That’s a different story.
Other than that, it was a pretty good day. We planted our compost pile salvage pumpkins in the earth box and some tomato plants in our big pots. Ok, I gotta get crackalacking. Time to go dig out the basement. I have ten dollars in quarters. Maybe we’ll actually sell some of our crap tomorrow.
