About Today

I cannot believe that it’s 9 already.  Totally ridiculous.  I’m torn over Top Chef’s new time.  I used to think it was on too late but now that it’s on earlier it kind of makes the night feel like it’s over too soon.  I’m just glad that I have some guacamole to eat while I watch so I don’t have to sit here salivating.   Read the rest of this entry »

I Have To Say What I Feel

I love a nightie with vintage appeal.  I made this almost 2 years ago and never mentioned it.  I’m going to go out on a limb and say that, since Chase looked like this when I first made it, it must have been too big to go into the rotation.  But it fits just right now.   Read the rest of this entry »

My Saturday Was Busier Than Your Saturday

I was going to say better but I suspect that some of you, namely the person pictured here, will disagree.  I’ll probably get some grumbling over posting pictures without permission but I don’t care!  She looks fabulous!  Did I mention that I can’t wait to meet JJ?  Well, it’s true, I can’t.   Read the rest of this entry »

Three Years Ago…

I was celebrating that Chase finally gave up on the 4am feeding.  I guess I took a more no nonsense approach this time around but it certainly didn’t feel that way.

I was commuting to DC WITH Chase and helping to close down the law office.

I was thinking that Chase was learning how to give a high five?  Hmm, not sure about that one.

The archives are fun.  I was evidently a very excited new mommy.

It’s Wednesday, we’re halfway there.  Meanwhile, the summer continues to fly by in spite of its JUST having started.  We haven’t quite found our rhythm yet.  Either I remember towels but forget our bathing suits or I remember bathing suits but forget our lunch.  I have yet to get it quite right.   Read the rest of this entry »

To Pitch a Tent

So camping is getting more and more fun as I recall it.  Way more fun than when I was lying in the tent in the middle of the night listening to the drunk guy at the next campsite that was so close it sounded like he was in the tent with us.  Yep, way more fun than at that moment.  It was quieter the second night but by that point my outlook was fatally tainted.   Read the rest of this entry »

Gone Fishin’

And back again.  So… I’m not a camper.  It’s fine.  It’s not the sleeping in a tent, the lack of indoor plumbing or electricity.  It’s the people… who wants to be around SO many people.  I just don’t get it.  Maybe we were at the wrong campground but man, it was almost as dense with cars and people as the city.

We certainly did have fun though in spite of it all.  I know Chase will have many nice memories from this trip.  Tomorrow I will tell you all about it.  Tonight, I’m trying to recover and enjoying the luxuries of hot running water, the sofa and the television.

I will leave you with one piece of BIG news.  Chase forgot to pack her pacifier for camping.  So… yeah, it’s DONE.  No crying.  Yeah!  She was ready.

Who Would You Invite To Tea?

Chase is undecided.  She’s torn between as many guests as she has plates and just the inner sanctum of her very closest naked dolls, trolls and random stuffed toys.

I hope you’re all thinking of my back while I’m roughing it.  See you soon!

Congo and Bongo

I found Congo and Bongo in a box in the basement.  I should have probably sold all of the Beanie Babies on Ebay or maybe they’re old enough to go on Antiques Roadshow at this point?  Instead I decided to pull the tags off and let my children go to town.  Congo and Bongo are by far the most popular.  Stellaluna is cute too but doesn’t get to enjoy all the rough and tumble play that the monkeys do. Splish Splash

I remember so clearly when Chase started being able to sit up well enough to sit in the bath.  I remember how everything became so much more fun and interesting.  Today was that day for Avery.  She loves taking baths with her big sister.

I’m so sleepy tonight but I have to go make the neck pillow that I promised Chase I’d make her for the car.  The pool is wearing us all out.  Yesterday Chase fell asleep while she was eating a hot dog!
