Two hours ago I was bone tired and ready to pack it in. Instead of going to bed I stayed up late to eat cake and figured I’d pop in here for a minute. I promise this is the last batch of tie dye. They’re a gift for a new wee little babe that’s on the way.
I had fun making these too. I was hoping to figure out how to make a heart pattern with the tie dye but didn’t quite have it worked out as well as I thought. So I fussed over them, worked it out, had Ben look at them, fussed some more and worried a little before setting them down for a while.
Later, when I ran into the intended recipient, I got so excited that I ran into the house and brought them out… aaaand then had to ask for them back because I remembered that I hadn’t exactly finished them. I hadn’t trimmed away the excess fabric or trimmed the threads. I did, I had to ask for them back. In fact, that’s the only reason I have a picture of them at all. It was a little more than ridiculous. So I brought them in, trimmed the threads and then packaged them up properly as I should have done in the first place. And I bet you wondered where I got the title for this blog.
One day I’ll be a good gift giver. Now you know what birthdays and holidays are like at our house. Gifts almost never get opened on the appropriate day. We’re almost forced to be last minute shoppers. It’s the only way.
