Is this it then? It’s cold and rainy today but yesterday it was still HOT. It might have been the very last day for making homemade vanilla ice cream.
We used this recipe. I modified the recipe a little so we wouldn’t have to go to the store. Read the rest of this entry »
An appropriate title now that it’s officially fall, no? I love reading but it happens sooooo slowly (because I watch so much tv? Noooo couldn’t be that.) Quality not quantity is my mantra. Read the rest of this entry »
Well, KCWC is still in full swing. I’m still plugging away but decided to work on a dress for Chase. It’s not moving along quite as quickly as the tiny pants but it’s getting there. It will probably be the last project that I work on for the week even though I did win an awesome pattern for participating! I might have attempted it but, right now, my head is spinning from all of the information I’ve taken in in the last 12 hours. Read the rest of this entry »
Chase will show you how to do it. Roll up your sleeves. Oh, heck, just take your shirt off and start peeling… and eating. I bought about three times more apples than I needed for snack this week. Keep peeling! Read the rest of this entry »
Ok, are you ready to get to work? These pants will be cuter on the model but this picture will have to do for now. Every time I make a pair I think up other things I could do with them. These pants are cut on the fold so eliminate the side seams but I think it would be fun to leave the side seams in and sew a couple of rows of lace across the bum. Read the rest of this entry »
KCWC kicks off today! This week everyone who’s playing along pledged to set aside one hour each day to work on sewing related projects. All I have on my to do list for the week are pants, pants and more pants. Leggings really. We never seem to have enough and the ones that come in the Gerber and Carter’s multipacks are so damn ugly. This is like the fifteenth time I’ve used this title but, really, what else can you say about your first jazz/tap class? So, let’s see. She tapped her toe on the floor exactly two times through the first half of the class. Mostly, she just stood there while the other little girls tapped away. She definitely thought the music was way too loud but I think she’ll just have to adjust. I’m not sure there’s much to be done about that one.
It gets pretty messy around here. Oh, who am I kidding? It gets very messy around here. But really the housekeeping is about this space rather than the physical space that I actually occupy because, honestly, talking about that is no fun at all. I’ve totally updated the list of sites that I enjoy. It’s probably not complete but better than it was before. If I forgot you or if you’d like to be included send me an email.
I added the Google Friends Connect widget a few weeks ago but forgot to tell you about it. I like to use it because it’s the very fastest way to add sites to your reader. I used to have this elaborate system of bookmarking and then going back to add stuff to my reader later. This is way better. Are you using the Google reader? You probably should be. If you’re using Gmail, you’ll see a link for “reader” in the upper left hand of the page when viewing your inbox. Read the rest of this entry »
