I wanted to post a summary of all your good lunch ideas. I wanted to work on some pants for Avery. I wanted to do the dishes. I wanted to do a lot of things. But I’ve been busy trying to keep myself on my feet, figure out some exciting opportunities that, while exciting, require all of those adult type decisions that come along with them, and just generally trying to get my life in order. And since I didn’t get to the lunch dishes it’s a good thing that someone else made our dinner. Anyway, now we just wait and tomorrow I’ll be able to do the dishes again I hope.

End Of Summer Chowder
Lately, all I can think about is soup. Soup and fresh bread to sop it up with. I took back all of the books on preserving I borrowed from the library and took out a bunch of books about soups and bread. I made Mollie Katzen’s corn chowder for dinner on Friday with BLT’s and the whole pot of soup was gone by lunch this afternoon. I ate a bowl for dinner, a bowl for dessert and one more as a midnight snack. I finished off the last one for lunch today. When soup is good, it’s good. Read the rest of this entry »

The First Day Of School
After a longer-than-just-summer-break hiatus she’s back in the saddle. It was a whirlwind day for her today. First she told me to leave, then she cried when I came to pick her up because she wasn’t ready to go and finally she cried as soon as we got to the car because she said she wanted to stay home with me this morning and somebody took something from her during the day. Pizza and Lemonade

Tomatoes Tomatoes
I always say things like ‘this is the last time I’ll mention it’ or ‘I’m totally done complaining now’ but, with regard to the tomatoes, I’m not quite there yet. Almost but not quite.
