You can eat a ham sandwich wherever and whenever you please. And ham sandwiches are tastiest when shared. See, the thing about lunch boxes is that they have to be taken directly to the kitchen. Otherwise, clever children will find then, open them and eat the contents when the moment strikes.
Peanut butter on the other hand is best eaten alone, secretly. Like under a table and behind a basket of shoes and doling it out only as necessary. Avery tried her very hardest to get back there, trying to scale the shoes and waving her arms mightily. Chase took pity on her and shared a few bites. Good sister.
We did learn a couple of important things today. 1) Avery is fine with peanut butter and 2) if you take your eyes off your food for even a second Avery has absolutely NO compunctions about stealing the last bite right out of your hand. Be warned.
Tomorrow the lunch box goes straight to the kitchen.
