Today was the second annual, what I like to call, gawker-stalker brunch at Volt in Frederick. I cannot tell you how much I look forward to this birthday present. Happy (belated) birthday to us! And this year no one is pregnant. Yes, we would like more mimosas to wash down that half a dozen scones. Read the rest of this entry »
Everybody did at least a little sledding today. Chase did a lot. I wish I had video of that but neither of us parents was able to go. Neighbors graciously agreed to take her along. And I’m glad that she didn’t miss out. I couldn’t take the mommy guilt. My poor little brain just couldn’t possibly handle it right now. It’s kind of funny but I’m getting a little bit worried about just how broken my brain seems to be at the moment. Read the rest of this entry »
It’s back. I don’t think this bodes well for the rest of the week. I see cabin fever in my future. I’m thinking science experiments and homemade pizzas and extra long baths. Read the rest of this entry »
It’s hard not to get sucked into the Magic Treehouse series. Chase listens to them in her workshop time at school so I really didn’t feel a need to press the issue of chapter books. I can’t even estimate how many times we listened to the story. Read the rest of this entry »
We very seriously almost missed the performance. As in I was ripping of her coat and yelling go go go as her instructor walked toward the music. Not exactly parent of the year. It totally could have backfired too. Not only did I forget that she would be preforming but that also meant that I hadn’t warned her and she wasn’t expecting a room full of grownups to be sitting and watching but she danced her little heart out. I guess that’s what being four is about. Staying cool. I’m so proud of that girl!
I haven’t been feeling terribly creative lately. Not a lot of making but I have been doing a lot of cooking. Partly because I’m trying to be more careful on what I’m spending at the grocery store and partly because we’ve had so many days at home in a row and maybe just a little bit because I got a new magazine in the mail. I don’t know exactly how much I paid for it. A dollar or two? But it’s my absolute favorite dress right now. Fully lined in soft flannel, pink but not too girly, with long sleeves and with super fancy cap snaps up the back. Best one dollar dress ever.
Ok, I’m ready to talk about it now. Some would say that a tea party just can’t be done for the preschool set. It all started months ago when I started asking Chase what she had in mind for her birthday party. Last year we did a bowling party and the year before that she had her party at the gym where she did a toddler tumbling class. But this year she wanted a dress up tea party.
