So, remember this? I finally figured out what to do with it. Actually, it turns out to be not that satisfying. It took me just under two years to figure it out but I kind of thought it was longer! I tried to explain that it’s more a shelf, a curio if you will, than a dollhouse. That didn’t go so well.
I made my first foray into the world of spray paint with this project. Man, is that stuff ever offensive. 24 hours passed before I could even bring it in the house and that’s on top of how BAD it smelled while I was doing the actual painting. Painting with a brush would have been nearly impossible though. I think spray paint was the way to go. Now she just needs a not broken clock for her bedside table.
I also took down the alphabet that was up on the big wall. Now I have to figure out what to replace it with. I think the impetus for all of this is the impending room switch. I’m trying to get geared up for the two girls to share a room. Weaning, sharing a room. You know, big kid stuff. I’m not ready!
We wrapped up another session of tap/jazz with another parent performance. Except this time we were, you know, on time. She still danced her little heart out right up until the part where she didn’t get to be line leader. She recovered ok but there was some stomping and the part where I had to call her over for a stern talking to pep talk.
Well, here we are careening into midweek. I went to the grocery store on Monday. I said to myself, make a list but I didn’t and came home forgetting at least 5 items. So. That brings you up to speed on the week so far. Not moving fast enough. Me that is.
