Check any nook or any cranny in my house. There will be a paper girl in it. Ok, it’s not exactly fair to blame the stuffing of all nooks and crannies on the paper girls. The stuffing of nooks and crannies is mostly my fault. That being said, Chase is crazy for paper girls. She draws and cuts them out herself. This afternoon she made a unicorn for the biggest rapunzel to ride!

That’s Us
Way, way up at the top riding the sklooge at Knoebels. I’ve looked at this picture everyday since I took it. I just can’t get over my girl. I laugh a little when I think about how she wanted to go on this ride. In a good way I mean. I just love it. I should ask her more about it. I remember that I opened my mouth to scream and no sound really came out but I don’t think that anyone really noticed. Then, for the first 20 minutes in the car she would periodically blurt out “the water ride!” She’s amazing.

First Harvest
It’s time for my annual picture of the first berries of summer. It’s kind of funny because there’s been a red painted rock out there for a few weeks now that we kept getting excited over until we finally stopped checking. Then one day lo and behold… ripe berries!
We decided to save them for breakfast tomorrow. Or maybe we’ll do fruit salad for lunch. Maybe then no one will notice just how sparse the pantry is at the moment. Monday grocery shopping got pushed off until tomorrow and it required a little creativity today. Read the rest of this entry »

When you run out of ingredients? These vanilla twists. They won’t blow your mind but they’ll satisfy your sweet tooth and you can dunk them into your coffee. Another Funny Hat
Avery has another funny hat. I want to copy this one to make a pattern and to finally learn how to crochet flowers because I think adding something like that woud be cute. I’m trying to figure out exactly how old this hat is. The style and shape are not at all familiar to me. Thoughts?
Both of my kids are so strangely attracted to hats. I think we have enough of a collection to start thinking about how to store and/or display them. And maybe just maybe if they have somewhere nice to put them where they can still see them they won’t fight me so hard when it’s time to take them off. What are the chances of that? Order Up
We were go go go all day long. I tell you. Chase’s day started out with the addition of a tiny suitcase full of My Little Ponies to the toys in the her classroom and ended with a little outing and ice cream cone with her teachers. I suspect that a 2:1 teacher to student ratio isn’t bad every now and then. Particularly when you live with 16 month old Godzilla baby. You might be up for a little one on one time.
