6.17.11.Paper Doll of the Day

Fairy Princess of the Universe!  She’s also stronger than Power Girl.  And because today was the last day of camp I promised to take a picture of the fairy princess on her arm so that she would let me wash it off.  She was pretty specific that I should not only take the picture but also actually print it.  I guess I’ll have to keep up my end of the bargain.

6.16.11.Paper Dolls of the Day

Camp must have been like a paper girl making factory today.  Or maybe she felt like she had to make up for yesterday by being extra crazy prolific today.  I suppose the one on the left is really just an honorary paper girl since she’s not cut out but I had to include her anyway because it’s me you see.

A little bit about the girls as they were described to me, from left to right: Me wearing a wedding Read the rest of this entry »

A Little Crazy

I do all of my best work with one arm in the air too.  It’s an otherwise unremarkable picture of what we did this afternoon while listening to Junie B. Jones audiobooks.  I’m still unresolved about that but that’s neither here nor there.  What’s important is that this photograph revealed to me that the decorative Maryland tin that I’ve been looking for over the last week is not, in fact, lost.  In short, the title of this post sums me up nicely doesn’t it?

No Paper Doll Today

Mostly because when Chase got home today she drew her inspiration from the collaborative work hanging on the easel that me and Avery worked on.  So she drew flowers in pencil.  Then she hung it on her newly covered bulletin board.  I tried this once before but it didn’t work out so well.   Read the rest of this entry »

6.13.11.Paper Doll of the Day

This one was created at school.  When I asked about her Chase told me that she’s a princess and that she’s been waiting for me for years!  I’m guessing the medium is Cray-pas.  They give the same super saturated look that the white board crayons did.  That seems to be her preference.  There was no paper doll making yesterday!  The artist rests on Sunday.

6.11.11.Paper Doll of the Day

6.11 paper dollCreated first thing this morning as you might note that I’m still wearing my pyjamas in the photo.  This time she used some white board crayons.  The kind you can use in place of dry erase markers.  I think that she likes them because, in spite of the crappy phone picture, they make super saturated colors on paper.  This is a “princess baby for Avery.”  She’s wearing a red crown and glass slippers.

I Made Something

It’s been a while friends, it’s been a while.  But I did it.  After many weeks of thinking about it I got back on the horse.  It’s a modified version of a dress that I bought for Chase over Memorial Day Weekend.   Read the rest of this entry »

6.10.11.Paper Doll of the Day

Paper doll of the dayThis is today’s paper doll.  Drawn with a brand new box of chunky Crayolas before leaving for camp this morning.  I wanted to ask her about the pig nose and the black eye but I suspect that the pig nose is just her way of representing nostrils for the first time.

A Book Thing

Totally gratuitous baby picture notwithstanding, I have a little bit of a thing for books.  Not like I read so prolifically but, still, I like them.  I particularly like hunting for a gem in the bins at The Book Thing because I find lots of them.  So many that I’ve been thinking about sharing them for a long time.   Read the rest of this entry »

Bubbles and Berries

So, I saw this a while back and thought it was a totally brilliant idea.  I’ve been looking and looking for just the right container and couldn’t seem to find one.  Finally today I found an old Coleman cooler with the right kind of spout on it so I bought it.  It’s way less cute than the one in the picture but perfectly functional and the bubbles work too!   Read the rest of this entry »
