As is the way with second babies, I suppose, not only did I not make a first day of school dress for her but I also neglected to take her picture this morning when we set off for school. You’d think that after all of that and then staging an after school shot that I would have at least checked the camera to make sure that I had a good shot. My poor girl. But she had a GREAT time. LOVED it. We both did. But I won’t lie, I’m beat.
Alright, there are at least a couple of excuses that I can come up with for not getting any dresses done before school started. One is that Chase wears a uniform everyday and the other is that I have something very specific in mind that I think is going to require placing an order for a couple of yards of this.
What I would really like to do is to pull down some of my books and figure out how to draft my own really simple dress pattern. That’s what I would really like to do but that’s probably way too ambitious for right now. It might also require me to order a giant roll of oaktag and I’m not sure how I woud explain that to Ben.
Love the color of the dress! You can totally draft a dress pattern. What kind of silouhette do you want? I don’t use oaktag,I use brown craft paper. It’s cheaper and you won’t get upset if you screw it up.
