Where, you might ask, did I find my camera after two weeks of
not looking for it? Why under my bed of course. Where else? I was putting away clothes in the girls’ room when I had a flashback of Chase using my camera up there to take pictures.
I uploaded the contents of the memory card. There were some fine specimens of portrait photography on there, let me tell you. I’m glad, glad, glad to have it back though. We’ve been doing all kinds of stuff and I can barely remember any of it.
We visited the Carrie Murray Nature Center for a birthday party for the first time last weekend. On Sunday we went to the Ultimate Block Party and there isn’t a single photo to commemorate any of it. Chase even got a shout out from Ms. Betsy who used to work at the central library but now works at Port Discovery. It kind of made me want to get a membership there just so we could go to story time and visit her. That’s my book lovin’ girl I guess.
Speaking of book lovin’, Chase is having a great time at school. I can tell she’s feeling really good about what she’s learning and the progress that she’s making. She’s absorbing as much as she can and I can see how much she wants to read and write. But also she loves playing and socializing which reminds me that I have to check her nails for playdough before I send her off in the morning. She doesn’t even complain about gym anymore. We have our first conference tomorrow night. I’m nervous and excited and keep trying to remind myself that it’s not about me but, at the end of the day, her performance is a big ol’ reflection on me (us). Isn’t it?
