But these two kids. Well, they kinda look the same, no? We came across this picture of Ben over the weekend and I was blown away by how much like little Ben she looks. She doesn’t look so much like big Ben but little Ben, wow.
I took lots of other pictures today that I wanted to show you. The thing about that is that you should use a memory card if you want to look at the pictures again after you’ve taken them. Cameras are tricky like that. The good news is that my camera came back from Nikon good as new and repaired under warranty! Yeah! Next time I bring it to school I’ll wear it on a string around my neck or something. Or maybe I’m just not responsible enough for that yet.
I was taking pictures of the beginning of our Halloween decorating. I saved most of our stuff from last year and even the paper stuff held up pretty well. All I have left to do is to festoon the place in fake cobwebs, you know, as opposed to all the real ones. We’re pretty excited about Halloween. Even Avery’s all keyed up about it. Lots of squealing about fake frogs and spiders and lots of laughing.
I was torn between the fabric store and the thrift store for putting together this year’s princess costume. Last year I used a commercial pattern and fabric that from the stash. This year I didn’t particularly feel like using a pattern again and I really didn’t feel like driving to the fabric store to buy 6 yards of cheap halloween costume fabric. It only took one pep talk from Chelsea to convince me to go for it. So I went to the thrift store today and found an appropriately shiny and lacy nightie to serve as the base and a table cloth with a scalloped butterfly edge for the underskirt. I feel inspired! I have all kinds of crazy trim to put on it too. I think it’s going to be good. I really wanted this ugly blue curtain with a ruffle for the skirt but couldn’t bring myself to pay eight bucks for it. Seemed a little steep for an ugly curtain.
What are your plans for Halloween? Will you be winging it too?
