1, 2, 3, 4, FIVE!

My girl is so unbelievably big.  When did that happen?!  At dinnertime she told me that since she’s the birthday girl I should let her do whatever she wants.

Her big wish was to help with dinner, but more to the point, to mix up a batch of lemonade as a treat AND all by herself.  No helping to measure or pour the water or anything.  How could I say no?  And you know what?  It was good lemondate and no spills.  Five can really concentrate.

Five can also serve the pasta and pour the drinks.  I think that four was pretty good but five promises to be amazing.  I can’t wait to see what it has in store.

For dinner the birthday girl picked buttered noodles.  For dessert I picked mini tartlets from Whole Foods.

I spent the morning making chocolate chip cookies to bring to school and we’ll have cake on Sunday.  So that’s fair, right?  And they were terrible.  Just awful.  Can you tell?  My only mistake today was only buying six of them.  I ate two but I could have handled at least one more.

I have big plans for that cake on Sunday.  I always have big plans for birthday cakes.  The thing with this one is that if it fails… I don’t know how I’ll salvage it.  I’m navigating in uncharted waters here.  Ok, I’d better stop thinking about cake.

Hello five! Be good to my dear, dear sweet girl.
