I can’t believe I’m even typing that but that was some cold breeze today! Also, if you’re running a fever the wind and water will feel extra cold. That’s right… sick again! Ugh. At least Avery didn’t have strep. That means this isn’t strep either, right? Right?! Read the rest of this entry »

Of course tie dye made the list. It looks like we skipped last summer but the summer before we were all over it. I kind of wish I’d gone back and read my own post on it before I got started. I probably wouldn’t have wasted my time AGAIN with disposable gloves. They are so waaaay beyond useless. Read the rest of this entry »

I still haven’t posted our summer bucket list. We weren’t that successful in composing the original list but as the days pass we think of things to add to it. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, we’re mostly crossing things off as we think of them… so actually we still don’t have much of a list. Read the rest of this entry »

Did you go outside today? Because, man, that is some intense heat. I loaded the kids into the car and I could feel the sweat running down my back just from that tiny bit of exertion.
At the pool I double parked and herded the crew inside. We were only there for 5 or 10 minutes but it was long enough for me to start feeling totally stressed that I had the baby out in the heat. It wasn’t that though. I bet that if I hadn’t a) parked in the fire lane b) been worried about Avery totally throwing a fit about not being able to stay c) eaten breakfast I probably would have been less of a basket case. I wasn’t doing any better two hours later when all of those things (except for the fire lane part because I found a prime spot!) were still true AND I couldn’t find my big kid. Argh! Bedtime is like valium though isn’t it? I feel so much better now.
Me and Chase have been using the paints that Martha gave us on all kinds of things. Right now we’re working on painting another little house for their room. What I really want is a vintage printer’s box but the only one I ever found cost 30 bucks and was too heavy for me to carry home at the moment. It seems like 30 bucks is a fair price but I was way too pregnant to schlep it when I came across it. So I keep adding these. We are drowning in a sea of too tiny things. In theory these little curios will keep it all under control. The others are all white so we decided to jazz this one up a bit. Also, I can’t find any white acrylic paint.
What’s on your to-do list for tomorrow? I have to figure out if Avery has strep or not, get Chase to swimming lessons and lacrosse and Ben has a guitar lesson. That kind of sounds like a lot. I gotta remember to eat my cheese stick before I leave the house.

I keep taking pictures but this time, THIS TIME, I’m going to do something with them. Starting with this and one of these big ones. What do you do with your photos?

We went downtown this evening to check out the tall ships. If you haven’t already at least been down to see them you should go! This week is so exciting between the Blue Angel fly overs and all the hustle and bustle downtown. I told the girls they are very lucky to just be able to step outside to see the jets fly over or to jump on the (free!) bus to go and see the ships. People are in Baltimore from all over the place just to check them out. Read the rest of this entry »

I should know better than to jinx myself by posting that everybody’s sleeping. It’s not terrible but it’s not consistently great. It is and then it isn’t. You know how it goes. Read the rest of this entry »

So if you’ve been inside my house in the last 4 weeks you’ll be impressed at how much of the rug in the living room is visible in this picture. I know I am! Read the rest of this entry »

We had a great night out on the town today. It is Friday after all and it’s practically summer vacation! We visited my friend Cathy at her studio to check out the great work that the artists are doing there. The artists at Make Studio do some really incredible work. We bought a piece. I didn’t even know who I was looking at but I couldn’t leave it. Tony Chiba as the Streetfighter has a new home with me. I love these too. If you’re local, and/or know Cathy, ask her about what she does and ask her for the tour. It’s pretty amazing. Read the rest of this entry »

I got Ben all set up and we tagged team dinner. We were so fortunate to have so many friends pitch in to make us dinner over these past three weeks but we’re down to our last meal and have to start getting back in the game. I dog eared this month’s Everyday Food like crazy and the recipe for pimiento cheese burgers went right to the top of my list. Read the rest of this entry »
