Even 20 + Blueberry Nutmeg Cake

There are 19 items on our summer bucket list.  I need one more to make it an even 20.  I thought of something today but never wrote it down so I’m still in the market for a good idea.  The bug museum sounds intriguing…

Yesterday I was also writing about how well I was doing keeping my children occupied and then this morning I had to text Ben from Target at almost 11 because I was thinking it was probably not a good idea to let Chase keep sleeping… at almost 11!  Of course now it’s 9 and she can’t sleep.  Next time I won’t let her sleep quite so long!

While she was sleeping not only did we go to Target but we also made a cake.  Last week I cleared out all the new cookbooks from the library.  I borrowed two books titled Ripe and they’re both awesome.  They’re not arranged in exactly the same way but they are both organized around fruit/veg with all of the recipes for each in the same section.  They’re pretty perfect for someone with pounds of blueberries in the fridge.

Today we made the Blueberry Nutmeg Cake From Ripe by Cheryl Sternman Rule and it is GOOD.  It says it’s better on the second day and if that’s true then… well it won’t last long.  We’ve already killed half of it.  It’s like the plum torte that I love so much but with nutmeg sugar on top instead of cinnamon sugar.  I think it would be good with the nutmeg in the batter and cinnamon sugar on top too.  Here’s the recipe.
