There is no shortage of craft books at our house but, so far, this is the best one. We made five projects out of this book over the long, rainy weekend. Chase chose a bunch of projects and had a lot of fun coloring and cutting and taping. By this afternoon she had a whole menagerie of animals set up in front of the tv.
I don’t know what it is about this book. It’s some combination of the cute illustrations and the simplicity of the projects that makes it so appealing. The projects are just the right balance of challenge and simplicity. Most of them can be completed with just paper, scissors and markers or crayons. The elephant required a few household items that might be harder to come by but how smart is making legs out of clothespins?
Also this weekend? A Cinderella paint with water book and a disney princess sticker book (The Book Thing never disappoints). How did you fill all the rainy hours?
