So very, very tired. Bennett had a cold, Avery had a cold and neither of them was sleeping. It seems that we’ve seen the worst of it. I know because I noted how many times I asked Avery today to please sit down or to please stop doing that. I didn’t have to say that at all yesterday. I’m so glad everyone is getting better and that the weather today was good but man, I could use some sleep.
I was glad when Bennett started sleeping through the night again but then Avery wasn’t. It’s exhausting and when I get exhausted everything is terrible. Just terrible. I always joke about how fatigue impacts my kids and their personalities but, as it turns out, fatigue has the same impact on me. Did I mention that everything is terrible? Last night Avery climbed into bed with us and I found myself sandwiched between two individuals coughing directly into my face. I almost screamed. So, tonight I will go to bed early or at least get into bed early and make some progress on Empire Falls. I hope everyone is sleeping better than I am! While I wait for the situation to improve I’d love to hear what you’re reading.
PS: I broke down and started reading Ramona And Her Father to the girls. It’s less painful this time, Ramona is growing up and while there are still plenty of antics the arc of this book is focused mainly on the father’s problems and not Ramona’s in a lot of ways.
