Doll 2
I worked on stuff over the weekend. I took the sad bits of cloth that were lying around waiting to be Avery’s counterpart to Chase’s silver Rapunzel and finally finished it. I like this one. She’s soft and cuddly she is. And I gave her brown hair. Brown and kind of greenish but she’s not that picky… yet. I drew the face on this time but it looks about as good as the 4-year old created version. Oh, and I used a Sharpie. A while back I participated in a craft stash swap and Mindy sent me a pack of fabric pens. Brilliant! I love them already! Thanks to Kim for organizing that, totally fun. Fair Rapunzel

In the Works
Chase has been bugging me to make her a doll for a week or two. I took out the Martha Stewart Craft Encyclopedia that I have, not surprisingly, never used. The doll, of course, is a princess. I Heart Art :: Contemporary Quilt Design
So some night this past week, probably Tuesday, I held off changing into my pyjamas and went back out after dinner. And I sure do love my pyjamas but it was totally worth putting off. I have lots of big ideas about quilting but traditional quilting is for someone way more detail oriented than I am. Which is why the workshop about modern quilt technique was totally perfect for me. Doings
These are the beginnings of our Easter project. So far the project involves several styrofoam eggs, wooden skewers, and sparkly paint. All 10 eggs are skewered and painted, phase 1 complete. Phase 2 is going to involve some ric rac, maybe some googley eyes and possibly some pins and beads. Oh and that paper grass and some ribbon too. I have lots of ideas. Read the rest of this entry »

Ridiculous Craft Explosion
The problem with doing things is that things get messy. We don’t use the dining room much for dinin’ and yet somehow it seems to me that it’s messier in there than it would be if we did. That’s a G rated picture right there because after the painting, the paper punching, lacing, and easter egg sculpture making the dining room table looked more like this.

Poor Sad Baby
I gave that poor sad baby a juice box. She doesn’t seem to be sick. No fever. Just a heap of sad, miserable baby. I had to do something about that sad face. She didn’t even want to go on the swings today. So I gave her the juice and then when I had to intervene to prevent her from squeezing the whole thing all over the place? Paperback Pocket Duo
I haven’t been working on much of anything lately. But I have been keeping my eye on the One Yard Wonders Sew Along at Pink Chalk Fabrics. When I saw the completed week three projects (these are actually supposed to be for mail) I thought it would be perfect for a girl just totally swimming in books.
