I gave that poor sad baby a juice box. She doesn’t seem to be sick. No fever. Just a heap of sad, miserable baby. I had to do something about that sad face. She didn’t even want to go on the swings today. So I gave her the juice and then when I had to intervene to prevent her from squeezing the whole thing all over the place? WIP’s
WIP’s or works in progress are way better than UFO’s or unfinished objects. And right now I’m working on two. This little guy is the first two and a half inches of one of these. Getting Cold, Getting Spooky
It’s c-c-cold here! Cold and soggy. I still haven’t turned the heat on though. I’m holding out just one more day at least. I’ve fallen in love with our gas and electric bill from the last couple of months and I’m not quite ready to let it go yet. On the Needles
C’s pixie hood is almost done. I would sat it’s probably about 80%. I have about another 1/2 inch to knit before doing the three needle bind off to shape the hat. After that, a couple of rows of ribbing and it’s voila. I think this time I’ll use I cord for the ties. Although I hate making I cord. Easy but tedious work. Read the rest of this entry »

Pink Pixie Hood
I love to knit hats. Probably because they’re quick and easy. I borrowed Baby Beanies by Amanda Keeys from the library but wanted to try so many of the hats that I decided to buy it. I have come to accept that I need to just buy some books outright because by the time I return them to the library I inevitably owe as much as it would cost to buy in fines. My Poople Hat
I can’t believe I finished this project before spring hit. I was pretty sure I’d get about 3/4 of the way done, it would get warm and I would put it away somewhere with the rest of my UFO’s never to be seen again. Not this time! I used this pattern from good knit which was super simple and easy. It would probably be fast too if I wasn’t such a slacker.
I meant to make a size 2-3 but somehow ended up making a 1-2 so I may be stitching up another one this time next year. I used size 6 circular needles even though it’s not knit in the round so you could use straights. I didn’t check my gauge it’s such a small quick project I decided to just knit away. It looked about right size-wise so I figured it would be ok. I used a bulky weight (machine washable!) alpaca yarn from lovely yarns, a local yarn shop. Now I feel like tackling something more ambitious… but what? I have some books out from the library I want to look through. I don’t know, I may be entering that dangerous I have more ideas for projects than I have time for phase.
